Hello,
We were checking the 5230's process usage using the top command . We saw the spoold at the number one process of resource consumption.
Is there a way to dedicate more process and memory for the processes in charge of deduplication?
Regards

Various ways of tuning the appliances but it depends exactly what backups you are doing
spoold is particularly busy during queue processing - keep this to a minimum and performance at its best by running queue processing more regularly - use a cron job if you need to - maybe fire it off every 4 hours to keep it really lean

What is Appliance software version?

Spoold is the process in charge of deduplication. You also may not make any changes to the appliamce code without direction from Support. This includes OS tuning. The biggest reason fro this is when you upgrade to 2.6.0.1 it will wipe out everything that has been done outside of the CLISH.

There is no need to "assign memory or CPU cycles" to a process. It will allocate memory needed by itself.
