After rebooting my Linux MSDP, the status of the server in the console of NB is "offline"

Hi !

I installed last week, 3 Linux server (RH 7.5) and I installed Netbackup 7.7.3 for Media server MSDP.

After the installation of NB 7.7.3 on this 3 servers, I added these servers in the bp.conf of the Master and after few minutes, these servers appears in the console NB.  I can see these servers  in "Devices-> Media Servers".  The status was "Active for disk".  I just reboot 1 server and after the reboot, the status of this server was "offline".  So I check on this server (reboot) with the command bpps and compare process with another Linux server.  Both server have the same netbackup process running.  "vnetd -standalone", "bpcd -standalone", "nbdisco", "nbrmms", "nbsl" and "nbsvcmon".  There is something wrong with my installation or I missed something?

Thanks for your help !

Hi,

You could try to set your media server online using nbemmcmd command. Sometimes it could take a while. If you have no time to be patient it is usefull

Please check if pbx is running.

If not, have a look at this TN:

Hello,

Kindly run the below command from the media server. If its communication issue then command output will be an error or get hung.

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbemmcmd -listhost

Also, check if any default firewall set on that media server.

#iptables -L

Regards,

Hi !

Our problem was the resolv.conf.  Our MSDP Linux server was in a domain and the master on another domain.  In the resolv.conf, we needed to add the domain of the Master in the "Search" line.

Thanks for your help !
