Backup through put is 0 kbps

Hi Friends,

I have some issue in my environment , there is exchange server as client we take data base backup as well BMR backup for exchange client , exchnage is in DAG envirment , exchnage data base backup is runing find but BMR or file system backup for the same client is just shows begin writing but do not increase any kbps or data size .

My master server is on windows 2008 R2 enterprise , media server is also windows 2008 R2 enterprise , client is also windows 2008 R2

all netbackup is 7.6.0.3

Is it a new implementation? Theres a large manual to try and digest...

Can you backup successfully with simple client/flat file? So the above is using the Exchange db agent?

What is the backkup selection? Are you backing up the entire system, including the drives hosting exchange databases? It might be trying to create the VSS snapshots of the drives and its having issues with that. Run the BMR backup when the exchage backup isn't busy and check the writers, and event viewer for errors.

I can't see anything in the logs, but then again, you cancelled the backup. Can you backup any other drives on that server? Or other nodes in the dag?

Yes other node is working fine but problem is with this node only , if you start backup it will show begin writing but there is no progress so i cancelled it . some time i left it runing it failed with error code 87 .

Interesting, that error relates to media close. And you say exchange backups work fine from that node? You using SAN Client maybe?
