Hi There,

Can some one help me in resolving client issue which fails with error 54?
When i try to open up client properties even that does not turns up.

I checked the connectivity and all other basis things, every thing looks good.

Thanks in advance,
Raghava

Hi,

Please check that NetBackup processes are running on the client machine. Also look for
conflicting ip addresses in ../etc/hosts files and DHCP addresses(if used).

Even command 'bpclntcmd' may help.

Lastly the link -

Surely this has to do with addresses.

Regards,
Deepak.

Have you try "netstat -a" at client end to verify bpcd is listening? (you should get entry like "......bpcd.......LISTENING")

If it does, it must be something on resolving the IP as mentioned by Deepak.

Is the client behind firewall?

Try going thru' the following document (i find it quite useful):

As i stated i tried all the basic things like bpclntcmd to check whether it is resolving the master and media as well client, it is working fine.

bpcd is listening ...

I checked that there are lot more jomby processes when i type ps -ef, i am unable to kill them ... i will try killing those processes and try.

Hope that works for me.

The issue has been resolved after killing those stuck processes.

Backup has been successful.
