Hi,
could you please explain for me some points in this picture ? :
I would like to know if the duplication circled in red will start only after 28 days from the date of the first duplication? or as soon as the first duplication terminates, so immediately begin Netbackup duplication to tape which will have as retention of 1 year?
Backup to disk = DataDomain the (Site A).
Duplication = disk DataDomain on a mobile website (Site B).
Duplucation= Tape duplication Site B.
thank you in advance for your return.

/usr/openv/netbackup/db/config/LIFECYCLE_PARAMETERS is the file in unix (till 7.5,) the setting on this file will be applicable to all SLPs on the master server.

As soon as first the duplication completes second duplication will triggher based on the next SLP session.
The default interval session is 15 mins. You can customise it in the life cycle parameter.

In Netbackup 7.6 you can configure the duplication to take place just befrore the first image expire (28days) - the parameter is called "Deferred duplication offset time"
The setting does not exist previous versions of Netbackup.

Hi,
thank you for your replies.
so if i understand the second duplication on tape will start after 28 days from the 1st duplication ? and the 1st duplication start after 28 days of backup ?

The option ("Deferred duplication offset time") Nicolia described is not the default behavior, its a configurable option. The default is to do it as follows and immediately (within 15 minutes grace) of the previous action completing.
