I using 4.5 FP6 and i have 4 LLTO2 drives in L180 storage Library. Is there anyway which i can speed up the duplicating timing? It takes more than 7hours to duplicate offsite tapes. Any parameters which i can modify so that i can send my offsite on time?
Check the logs to see what you are currently getting for a transfer rate.
read these technotes Getting slow performance when doing duplications. The robot and drives are attached directly to the system doing the duplications. http://support.veritas.com/docs/243197
How to improve backup, restore and duplication performance when using a Windows 2000 or NT 4.0 media server under VERITAS NetBackup 3.4GA or 3.4.1GA http://support.veritas.com/docs/240887
Feature Pack NB_VLT_45_9_F.solaris.tar provides updates and fixes for VERITAS NetBackup (tm) Vault on Solaris platforms. http://support.veritas.com/docs/279457
Basically 2 drives are loaded with main images and the other 2 drives are used for duplication when the vault policy triggered. The NB are currently on 4 Sun Servers. Can you explain what do you mean by "in-line" copies?
In-line is where you write 2 copies at once while you are taking the backup (instead of making a copy of the backup later).
In the schedule properties, look for a checkbox for 'multiple copies'. Check that and then hit the 'Configure' button next to it. You can configure the copies to go to 2 different volume pools (onsite and offsite). Then you can just have Vault eject anything in the 'offsite' volume pool.
