Encountering Installation Problems with Netbackaup Enterprise server v6.5

I am installing the Netbackup Enterprise Server v 6.5 on a windows 2003 server, it keeps rolling back the installations and gives an error that , the installation was interrupted.

Hi,

Try a right click on the SETUP.EXE and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR (Even if you are already administrator)

Also, make sure you have a freshly booted server (Sometimes the failed install or installs from other products leave the Windows installer running, preventing other installs)

Are you installing locally or via Remote Desktop?
Please locate the installation log file and look for the reason for the failure.

The install log file is found in the C:\Documents and Settings\<administrator_userid>\Local Settings\Temp directory.
Look for "Return value 3"

There are a number of TechNotes that deal with installation on Windows, but you first need to determine the reason for the failure.

I am installing locally on the Windows server, i have attached a copy of the error logs to this update.

Might I suggest removing the ZIP file and leaving a 'pruned' version???

Here is a copy of the error message am getting.

DEBUG: Error 2769:  Custom Action ExtractMSDLLs did not close 4 MSIHANDLEs.

Rename / Remove any copies you find (including in temp directories) and re-run the install.

Are you trying to do a Silent install? the error sounds like it, why you dont try a regular install and see how it runs? if not than something is starting the silent install and you probably need to remove any netbackup registry just to clean up. Remember that you can always push the client from the master server to multiple clients this can round the problem.
