Where is you oracle catalog DB resides ?

Is that oracle catalog DB up and running ?

It seems that the oracle catalog DB might not be active or not responding (pls check that).  If not do the following:

Have you check the netbackup connectivity with the oracle client?

From master server run - bptestbpcd -client <clientname> -verbose (this should succeed)

From master server run - bpgetconfig -M <clientname> SERVER (this should get the SERVER entries from bp.conf of client)

Create following directory in oracle client side

/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bphdb
/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/dbclient
/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpcd
/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/vnetd

Increase the verbosity to 5 and run the backup again and check the logs in bphdb, dbclient and bpcd

Let me know what you observed.

I run Command as follow:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>bptestbpcd -client Survey-DB -verbose
1 1 1
10.100.2.160:1195 -> 212.14.224.10:13724
10.100.2.160:1196 -> 212.14.224.10:13724
PEER_NAME = master
HOST_NAME = Survey-DB
CLIENT_NAME = Survey-DB
VERSION = 0x06500000
PLATFORM = linuxR_x86_2.6
10.100.2.160:1199 -> 212.14.224.10:13724
