Hi All,
I am Facing the same issue while restoring exchange at GRT level. Restoration Failed with 2810 error.
After adding all the Mailbox server name and CAS server Name in NBU console it got resolved.
You need to add both FQDN and short name for each server
Secondly your Destination and Source should be same (It should be DAG name)
Please refer to the below tech note

let us know how are you trying to restore. did you watched full video which is posted
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/videos/exchange-2010-sp2-grt-netbackup-75
it has Restore procedure as well as pre-reqs required for restoration.
07-03-2012 11:06 PM
Please share all relevant info:
NBU version on Server and Exchange server(s) seems to 7.5, right?
DAG or Standalone Exchange?
What are you trying to restore? Information store? Single item?
We can see that the backup was made on bglbg1e10mbx01 but restore is attempted to MAIL.SONATA.LOCAL.
Please explain the relationship here?
07-03-2012 11:21 PM
Yes based on procedure only the configuration re-check, but restoring is still a problem

DAG or Standalone Exchange?-DAG
What are you trying to restore? Information store? Single item?
We are trying to restore single item from a mailbox
We can see that the backup was made on bglbg1e10mbx01 but restore is attempted to MAIL.SONATA.LOCAL.
Please explain the relationship here?
bglbg1e10mbx01 is mailbox server and mail.sonata.local is client acess server (CAS)array name .

you cannot restore mail item to cas servers
Did you created No.Restrictions file mentioned in video and transcript. If this is not present, you won't be allowed to perform redirected restores.
moreover Has all the DAG members and CAS servers entered correctly under Distrubute Application mappings
Add DAG Virtual name against Mailbox servers and CAS servers
Also have you ran powershell script mentioned in video and transcript (impersonation rule required for restore)
07-04-2012 12:03 AM
You also need to ensure that NBU client software is installed on all DAG members and CAS server.
Ensure successful forward and reverse lookup between NBU server(s) and CAS server.
Please see NetBackup for Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator's Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5172 for restore requirements and steps to follow.

MS-Exchange-Server policy restore error(2810)
07-04-2012 01:29 AM
do not perform restore to CAS server. make it mailbox server
07-04-2012 07:19 AM
While restoring we have set teh optioon to restore to it's original location, however the restore job was trying to connect to my CAS server instead of mailbox server, Let us know any other option we need to check
07-04-2012 09:38 AM
From which server are you performing restore.
Open BAR gui from either of DAG mailbox member server. (Run as ADMINISTRATOR)
Set source and destination properly
Source would be DAG same what you specified in policy during backup. ..Destination could be either of your mailbox server where user mailbox is present.
backup server would be master server
now you should be able to perform restore without issues. if only this was causing restore failure

A couple of previous posts where restores were successful to CAS server:

Could you verify tar logs to us
also revert with bpclntcmd -pn and -self (from client /netbackup/bin)
bptestbpcd -client hostname -debug -verbose (from master /netbackup/bin/admincmd)
# hostname : replace it with client to which you are restoring CAS or MBX whichever. If possible post output for both
also revert with their alias details (if they are media server as well or are given any alias under cluster)
from master server
/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbemmcmd -machinealias -getaliases -machinename hostname -machinetype cluster

You have not shared ANY information about what you have tried in the meantime.
If you read the thread from the top, you will see that you now have a different error message. So, obviously something has changed.
Please explain all the steps that you have performed up to now....
We may be able to assist if we have a better understanding of your environment.
Your other option is to open a Support call with Symantec and request a Webex session. A knowledgeable engineer will be able to pinpoint the problem if given access to your desktop while you are logged onto NBU server and Exchange server(s).
07-12-2012 02:19 AM
We open the Support call with Symantec and support engineer request a Webex session and they ran the below steps
Commands from the Exchange Shell prompt
get-mailboxdatabase fl rpcclientaccessserver
get-mailboxdatabase |fl
get-clientaccessserver
They analyzed all logs mailbox , cas server , media and master server but no luck
Final support engineer recommend to upgrade the netbackup version from 7.5 to 7.5.0.3 and the restoration started
