File restore of Exchange DB

This is a spin off of a previous thread.

NBU 6.5.4

Exchange 2007

Ok, so I am attempting to restore a DB, but not in the normal way.  I'm not going the RSG route (at least not yet). I've used Kroll On-Track Exchange recovery tools in the past wtih great success, but that was with Backup Exec.  NBU is being a bit of a challenge for me.

In short the Kroll software runs an MS Exchange emulation service.  Once that is started, you go to the "Backup, Archive, & Restore" client for NBU, specify the NetBackup machines and polidy type (telling it the source of where the backup was taken, the destination and policy type, being MS-Exchange-Server).

Then select the backup of interest, etc, etc, then hit the "Start restore of Marked files".  The tape gets pulled from the library, put into the mahine, mounted, etc.  Then the following error occurs:

4/6/2012 8:07:55 AM - begin Restore
4/6/2012 8:07:56 AM - 1 images required

4/6/2012 8:12:39 AM - end Restore; elapsed time: 00:04:44
the restore failed to recover the requested files(5)

Anyone have any insight as to what I might look at here?  I've opened a support ticket with Kroll On-track as well, not gotten results yet.

Thanks,

James

If you are not using the Netbackup online agent I don't think you can specify an Exchange path. Try using the folder path instated.

form where did you initiate the resorter master server or client?

is it a redirected restore?

just try to initiate the restore from exchange client and lets see what happens?
