Media server OS:  Solaris

Do you see this drive in OS level and scan level

check the below command

scan

tpautoconf -t

and tpconfig -d

and make sure the drives that are displayed in tpautoconf and tpconfig are with correct paths..

The OS has lost connectivity to the tape drive.

Check devices at OS level with cfgadm -al.

Check /var/adm/messages for errors.

Only when you can locate the /dev/rmt/###   sym-link that corresponds with above /devices... address and this command is successful :
mt -f /dev/rmt/### status
(Should return: no tape loaded or device offline)
can we help you to re-add it in NetBackup.

At this point you do not have a NBU problem.
Troubleshoot device -> OS connectivity.

PS:
You need to upgrade!
NBU 6.x ran out of support more than 2 years ago.
