HOW TO TAKE BACKUP ON A SPECIFIC MEDIA

Dear friends,

I am using symantec veritas netbackup 6.5 ,i  have a media pool containing 3 media.

i want my backup to run using specific media.

how can i do it??

Move all the remaining tapes to standalone, then run the backup. Or make a pool and place only that media in the pool, modify the backup policy to use the new pool, then run the backup.

Don't know why you'd want to but thats how you do it.

would be to prevent NetBackup from using the other two - i.e. remove from library or suspend them.

If there are media available (i.e.correct volume pool, density, in library, not full frozen, suspended nor expired etc) for NB to use then it will based upon when they were last written to.
