How to retrieve information from master tapes in netbackup netbackup independent servers to another master?
Should I import the images from the tapes in the netbackup master new servers?

Recovery without import document states Both masters must be similar architecture (e.g. both UNIX or both Windows).

if you are going to do the restores a lot setup some kind of copy or rdist to copy the images dir on server one to either the same images or a different images dir.
I go with a different dir and just make links(unix) shortcuts(windows) in the images dir on second master to the copied dir that has the images from the first master remove the links when done, this way you will not get errors when you do a database consistency check.
but you can just put them into the same images dir.
this is a new doc with really good info and easy to do.
if you are only going to do it one time you can just import the tape.

Probably best to do a full phase 1 and 2 import.
That will confirm that the tape can be read by the Windows server.
See this TN for step-by-step procedure: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH43584
