IBM 3584 and AUTO_UPDATE_ROBOT

I'm trying to figure out why a master/media server does not automatically import tapes when inserted into the I/O slots in an IBM 3584. ALMS is enabled and configured properly.

I have also read through http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/284200.htm

I have Export set to Hide and Auto Instert Notification is off

In the vm.conf file I have AUTO_UPDATE_ROBOT set as well.

When tapes are placed into the library I still have to Inventory the robot in order to get NetBackup 5.1 MP6 to see/import these tapes into the NetBackup inventory.

Is there something else I am missing?

are you sure you have your Cartridge Assigment Policy on the robot set up right?

Yep, looks sorta like this:

Logical Library            Volume Serial Number Ranges

Library-1                     E20000 - E29999
Shared                       All Other LTO Volsers

The library successfully placed all of the tapes that we just imported into the library in the Virtial I/O slots. Meaning when the tape operators walked up and placed the tapes in, it kept placing them into slots without having them stand there and wait for us to import the tapes in when the MAP was full.
