How did you choose which files to delete? Sounds like you deleted files that should not have been deleted.

I have deleted some old files which are not needed now.

Tell us what you consider to be old files. You will agree that something relevant seems to be missing. And why do you need the old server for available_media report if you have recovered the catalog onto the new server?

Deleted some old software dumps which are not needed now(some exes). Also we have not restored catalog backup on new server. We have just createda new server inour envirement.

We just use old server to find out status of media so that that mediacan be reused.

Are all NBU services up and running? Emm automatically shuts down when disk fills up. Try to restart NBU from cmd with bpdown -f -v (wait for all processes to stop) bpup -f -v

What does 'no luck' mean? Which processes and services are running and which ones not? Have you checked 'bpps' output? Have you tried reports from the GUI such as Media Summary report with verbose option selected?

you did not mention after OS migration, whether you configure to have the tape library & drives configured back to original setting..

you need to do that, and also do an inventory to update all media tape location, only then available_media is giong to show you the media information.
