Linux Client install answer file

Hi to all,

i need to install with a script the agent for netbackup 7.7.2 on various systems, these are:

  1. Solaris
  2. Red Hat/Centos
  3. Ubuntu
  4. WIndows

For windows systems no problem, i can use the silentclient.cmd edited with my parameters.

Now i must deploy the agent on other systems, i cannot find a guide or a solution to implement an answer file to automatically respond to the questions prompted me from the setup. The bp.conf will be populated with master and media server using an existing file.

I must create a package to distribuite it with BMC BSA systems.

Regards

Federico

Yes but i don't understand how to set the parameters (master server and media server), i cannot deploy the agent from the master server for a privilege problem.

i can also use an answer file but i don't understand how to reference it to install.sh.

As last solution i can fix the informations into install.sh file.

You may install the agent on a template client, collect all installed files - mostly under /usr/openv - and  create a package (rpm or whatelse).

Then, as i know, you may deploy this package using BSA. After installing it, you may customize bp.conf according to client settings and restart netbackup services.

This it is not a standard installation but it should work.

Hope it helps.
