Hi,
My client wants to change her Master Netbackup 6.5.6 to version 7.5.
Does the bd Netbackup EMM will follow?
If during the installation of the new Netbackup server, is that I can put the old database in the new Netbackup?
What other information the old Netbackup server Can I transfer to the new server?
Is there a procedure for changing the Master Netbackup an improved version?
Thanks

Easiest way is to do a full catalog backup on the old server then shut it down
GIve the new server the same name as the old one, install NetBackup of the same version and patch level to the same install location as the original, configure the tape library and do a catalog restore and this will put it all back as it was
Now you can upgrade it to 7.5 and patch to 7.5.0.6
If it is windows there may be the odd thing you want to copy across also - mainly any changed registry setting or tuning you have put in place
All really straight forward - fire away if you have other questions

As per Mark's excellent post, the only supported way is to migrate to same NBU version and same hostname.
Anything other than that will require consulting services.
