Need your help. what is NAS/CAS/SAN backup. how it related with veritas netbackup.

NAS Backup refers to the NDMP backup. This is the protocol used to backup NAS devices.

Threre are several topologies for taking the NDMP backup of NAS devices. Same are explained in detail on NBU NDMP Options Guide

For making NBU capable of taking NDMP backup of NAS devices you have to take NDMP option license.

NDMP backup is not realted to the SAN storage, as SAN is the block level access device and we create and map the LUN to the servers. So for SAN storage you can take the backup of that LUN from server itself by installing NBU agent.
