Hi All,

Im planing on upgrading toda a MASTER/MEDIA server on Windows and a Solaris Client with Oracle agent, so my question is:

What is the correct way to upgrade the client?

Should I re-run the nbu script for RMAN?

Whitch should be the state of the DB while Im upgrading the client?

Thanks for the help

Alejandro

Netbackup client installer now has all binaries needed. No separate database installer as with old client versions.

just run the ./install from the client installation pacage.

after the upgrade, there is no need to re-run the oracle link script.

Alejandro, you forgot to tell us from which NBU version you are upgrading from? Or the Oracle version? In addition to above excellent post, the only thing that you need to verify is that the client OS version and Oracle version is still supported by NBU 7.6. All currently supported Oracle versions only require a symbolic link to the NBU libobk without the need for Oracle to be taken down for 'make' procedure. So, although a new libobk will be installed during the upgrade, the symbolic link in the Oracle folder will be untouched and still point to the NBU library.

Hi Marianne,

I was upgrading from 7.5 and the Oracle version is 11g.

NBU 7.6 works great and with no problems,

Thanks for the help
