Did you mean:

NOM - size of database on disk.

The manual says the growth should be less the 30 mb a day.

so if I want to keep 30 days I would have about 900 mb in the database at most.

Is this consistent with what anybody has installed?

how much data are you keeping and how much space are you using to keep it?

NetBackup v6.5.2A on Solaris 10 Sparc VCS cluster - on Sun V445.

NOM v6.5.2 on Windows 2003 R2 SP2 32bit - on HP DL380 G5.

Policies 250+

Clients 300+

Backup jobs 1500+

SLP duplications 1500+

NOM DB folder is 354 MB, in a total install of 772 MB (thus non-DB is 418 MB).

NOM configured to take 7 daily backups totalling 1.62 GB, each of the 7 days backups fluctuates depending upon workload, circa 250 MB per day.

So, I expect a very conservative estimate for this to double to triple, once all the rest of the 200+ clients have moved over from old env.  So, I expect footprint to be:

420 MB install

700 MB active database

3.5 GB for 7 x daily backups on disk.

IMHO, for my expected env of:

350+ policies

550+ clients

3000+ daily backup jobs

3000+ daily duplication jobs

...I would allow NOM space:

450 MB install.

1 GB active database.

7 GB for 7 x daily backups.

N.B. no detailed logging enabled yet - so maybe another 5 to 10 GB (5 days worth if it's like NetBackup itself)....

...Total projected circa 16 to 20 GB.

HTH.
