Need to backup a CIFS share (UNC Path)

Environment:

NetBackup v7.1.0.4

Data Domain 860

CIFS Share \\hq-dd860-001\db_backups

SQL Servers back up their data to the UNC path above (CIFS Share).

how do I back up the CIFS Share with netbackup?  Although the CIFS Share is replicated to 2 other Data Domain 670's, I still need to have it backed up to Tape.

Please check this technote and try the procedure described in it. Note that credential of NetBackup Client Service must has both read/write privilege of CIFS share and administrative privilege of local host.

In this case, you need to create a user on both Windows client and DD with identical user name and password. Then set service credential. Please notr that this user must have local administrator priviledge on Windows client.
