Hi -
Help!
I installed NetBackup 7.5 for a server on a Lincase PC, and I believed the install went OK. However, when I ran the server GUI, this GUI said that my server was a 'client' and all of the options were grayed out. After digging around, I noticed that the key appears to be odd as follows:
root@l3lincase3# ./bpminlicense -list_keys
KEYVALUEXX KEYVALUEXX 0x05000000 0x5228bad7 l3lincase3
root@l3lincase3# ./bpminlicense -verbose
KEYVALUEXX KEYVALUEXX
file version = 0x05000000
time added = 0x5228bad7 Thu 05 Sep 2013 07:09:43 PM CEST
hostname = l3lincase3
product ID = 6 NetBackup Enterprise Server
serial number = 0
key version = 0x05000000
I then tried to delete the key and re-add it to no avail:
root@l3lincase3# ./bpminlicense -delete_keys KEYVALUEXX
root@l3lincase3# ./bpminlicense -list_keys
root@l3lincase3# ./bpminlicense -verbose
No keys to list.
root@l3lincase3# ./bpminlicense -add_keys KEYVALUEXX
root@l3lincase3# ./bpminlicense -list_keys
KEYVALUEXX KEYVALUEXX 0x05000000 0x5228bad7 l3lincase3
The key is also grayed out in the GUI.
What can I do to proceed with this NB server install issue?
I did try to re-install - and got the same result.
thanks!

NFR keys are only available to Symantec resellers.
You should be able then to contact your local Symantec SE or reach out for assistance on PartnerNet.
**** EDIT ****
One more thing -
If you have a legally obtained NFR key, you will have a pdf that includes a Customer Number.
That Customer Number entitles you to a number of free Support calls per year.

1) don't post your key on the internet
2) place a call to Symantec Support to get this straightened out

The license I have is NFR (NOT for Resale) and with that, after several calls and emails - I find that we get 0 technical support.
