Hi folks,
found only an old entry for Solaris, but here it's a SLES Enterprise server..
Full message:
"Unable to login, status: 505
Can not connect to the NB-Java authentication service on <master server> on the configured port -0. Check the log file for more details"
This is for a user named "netbackup"; login with user root works (as a workaround).
/etc/services is OK.
If somebody has an idea I can provide more details.

versions?
Had something like this after an upgrade to version 8. On a user desktop, we could login with one account but not anohter. In the end i found a note suggesting to delete the security / certificate store on the desktop (in some vxss folder).
Can look this up if it remotely resembles your issue.

Hi Riaan,
thanks for your reply. I now suspect that it may be a credentials problem since root can login, but bp.conf says
USE_VXSS = PROHIBITED, so it could only be bpnbat? What do I need to do to add a user to be able to use the console beside adding it in /java/auth.conf?
I appreciate your help :)
