HEllo Geeks ,

I have one query regarding licencing . We have 200TB of Data Protection Optimization Option.

SYMC NETBACKUP DATA PROTECTION OPTIMIZATION OPTION 7.6 XPLAT 1 FRONT END TB STD LIC REWARDS BAND E.

Now when I run nbdeployutil ,i get below stats.

Capacity:
Master Server Dedup (TB) VTL (TB) Open Storage (TB) Advanced Disk (TB) ReplicationDirector (TB) Total
stcssrybkp039 4.362845592 0 195.0513287 0 0 199.4141743
Total 4.362845592 0 195.0513287 0 0 199.4141743

All I need to understand , have we exhausted  the limit ? Or we still have close to 5 TB with us ?

The thing that has made me question us is when I check ITemization  ,I see data has been calculated twice. Sample figures below.,

Deduplication (KB) Open Storage (KB)
801915647 801915647
18300576 18300576
2648544 2648544
145733887 145733887
9555232 9555232
119667583 119667583
26389632 26389632
6272640 6272640
39993376 39993376

We do not use Accelerator but have used for testing in our environment .

Now need to know how the FETB will be calculated , Open Storage + Dedup  ,or just Open Storage as same data has been calculated twice .

Kindly advise.

Hi

nbdeployutil is just a tool, it can't take into account all eventualities. I don't use it regularly but I believe there is a tab where it list the duplicates or "questionable" results.

Anyways, what you're showing here is capacity, and FETB is not determined by the storage devices, but rather by what is on the clients (the data that is backed up).

So you might be looking on the wrong tab.

Hi

In the Itemization tab look after column named "Charged Size (KB)" this is the only one which is being taken into account on tab: Summary...

If you will look at the formula in summary tab for Calculated or Charged you will see from where this is being pulled out..
