Hi,
I am using netbackup 6.5 environment in my enterprise ,I am facing a problem in Tape drive detection in my Master server when I am going to configure the Storage device through NBU console, But I can see the drive through my web console and while in the OS level of the Media server and also through Robtest Command in the Media server. So Please suggest how can I remove this problem My backup jobs are affecting due to this.Even I have rebooted the library during my troubleshooting activity ....

Hello Rohit,
You do not say what OS you are using, however, here are some basic steps.
I am not sure which web console you mean, is this the console for the library?
If you see the drive at the os, this is very good. What does the scan command show ?
If on Solaris, you can run the sgscan command also, this should show the drive.
We need really to know the problem when you try to configer the drive, is there an error ?
So, try this (I know some already works, just giving the complete steps)
Does the os see the drive (yes)
Does scan see the drive (yes, as you see it in robtest)
Does sgscan see the drive (yes, I think so)
robtest (yes)
Can you load a tape in robtest ?
Is the drive showing in devices >drives (tpconfig -d)
If the drive is showing, delete it in Netbackup
Restart ltid (stopltid, then ltid -v)
Try the device config again, what is the error
If this doesn't work, try just using tpautoconf -a , then does tpconfig show the drive
If none of that works, if on solaris, reload the sgdriver
Remove the existing driver:
/usr/sbin/rem_drv sg
/usr/bin/rm -f /kernel/drv/sg.conf
Install SG Driver
To install the driver run the following command:
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/driver/sg.install
