Restore failure

Restore is failing with the below error. Please suggest is the tape bad?can't we use for restore ?

Could be tape or could be the drive:

... but probably more likely to be the media.  Especially if only one tape affected ?

What happens if you run :

bpmedialist -mcontents -m <media id>  - do you get an error.  Perhaps you could post up the output.

Netbackup is not able to get the output sent for the media on given drive.

How many times u tried restore?

Workaround could be :

Down the drive Rob4-F6-Drv8B and let the media take other drive for restore in next attempt

OR

move media from one drive to other drive before u kick off the restore.

if nbu fails to read data from tape from more than 2 drives then there is problem with tape 

and u get data read from tape when moved to other drive ; problem is with Drv8B

Now the restore failed with the same tape with different drive in the second attemt.

now the drive -Drv3B but the same tape L42276.

and I ran the bpmedialist command and it gave the below o/p.

Looks like you have a faulty tape!!

Could you please request your onsite person to check the physical status of the tape like "pin position" ?
