I have old NetBackup setup and we have restore request now.
FS Backup was done using a robotic library few years back and now the robot has broken.
Tape devices are working fine, so we have configure the tape drive as stand alone drive for restore only.
the required tape is loaded in the tape drive but the restore is failing with below error.

Hi
is the new storage unit of the same type as tape used with this restore?

How do we check it and validate it.

Looks like the robot is still defined in the NBU. If correct mark all the tapes defined in the robot using media manager and move the tapes to "stand alone". Consider to remove the robot configuration from Netbackup.

I did the reverse, the tape drive was for restore only and I changed it to hcart type and restore has completed.

Hi
Well ofc you could do it, but this requires the MediaManager related processes to be restarted on the server hosting the drive - by doing the tape - you don't have to restart any deamons.
Nonetheless I am glad you sorted out your issue.
