Especially Nicolai's post.
If your SATA disk does not perform using it as basic or advanced disk, don't even think of using it for MSDP.
As Riaan said - you need to be able to ensure consistent, fast I/O rate for each backup/restore stream.

No - use SAS/FC/flash disks.
SATA disk can't deliver the number of I/O required. MSDP require performance disk - SATA are entry level
