Tape Drive Device Drivers

Hi,

I am currently in the process of replacing our NBU 6.5.6 servers with brand new Dell hardware and upgrading to NBU 7.1 at the same time. My new servers are Windows 2008 64 bit, and I plan to connect the servers to my existing Dell ML6000 tape library with LTO3 tape drives (SCSI).

In the past I have always used the tape drive device drivers .exe file that was provided on the installatin CD / DVD (or via Symantec website), but with 7.1 these do not seem to exist. I think I also read somewhere that Symantec do not provide any tape drive device drivers for 2008 64 bit servers.

Does anyone have any idea where I can obtain these from?

Colin.

I would use the drivers that Dell provide for the tape library. Install them first then install Netbackup.

From the HCL:

"For 64-bit Windows systems, the manufacturer's most recent tape driver should be used. The Symantec tape drivers are not compatible with 64-bit Windows systems."
