You need to contact your STK/Sun/Oracle reseller.
Upgrade/expansion comes at a price.
You cannot change config yourself.

I remember that STK used to license slots in the robot.
The robot will only allow usage of as many slots as per the license.
Use robtest to list the slots that the robot sees:
Robtest commands that can be used to test the SCSI functionality of a robot
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH83129
Use
s s
to list all slots.
Copy text in each screen before pressing <Enter> to go to next screen and paste in separate text file.
Upload the text file here as File attachment.

Hi Marianne
Thanks for the quick response.
The o/p for robtest shows only 118 slots and its all used. PFA.
Thanks
Thomas

The robot itself is reporting these slots - not NBU.
NBU is merely showing us what the robot sees.
The robot only knows about 118 slots.
This means that you are probably only licensed for 118 slots.
Speak to your STK/SUN/Oracle reseller.

in robtest, run mode command to see exactly how the library is configured
see this older thread for example
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/how-use-maximum-slots-sl500-storagetek-tape-library
mode
First transport addr = 0, Number transport elements = 1
First storage addr = 1000, Number storage elements = 100
First media access port addr = 10, Number media access port elements = 15
First drive addr = 500, Number drive elements = 4
Library does have a barcode reader
MODE_SENSE complete
