Hi,
I would like to ask assistance on how to make our nbu 6.5 drives run backup jobs (solaris 10). We have 5 drives. But i observed only 3 were running backup jobs. Im also confused why the last two drives has two paths. What's the purpose? My colleague told me it's for backup and the other path is for restore jobs (not sure with his answer). I wan't all drives run backup jobs. Max concurrent job of Master server is 5. Apology for the ignorance..Thanks

I can't see nfs02P-drive & nfs02p-dr in sgscan. Not sure if its connected connected why its not running backup job.

This is what I see in tpconfig output:
1 robot with 5 tape drives:
3 drives connected to media server
2 drives connected to NDMP server
Robot | Serial # | Media server | NDMP server |
Drive 1 | HU10747L7A | /dev/rmt/2cbn
Drive 2 | HU10747BRM | /dev/rmt/4cbn
Drive 3 | HU10747L07 | rst0l / nrst0a
Drive 4 | HU107272DR | /dev/rmt/0cbn
Drive 5 | HU10722JKK | rst1l / nrst1a |
No idea why you have that many Storage Units.
Only 2 STUs are needed :
- one Media Manager type for media server ***3backupsp01 with 3 drives
- one NDMP type for NDMP server ***3backupsp01 with 2 drives
None of the STUs should have 4 or 5 drives in the config.
The media server can only see 3 drives. It cannot use more than 3 tape drives.
The NDMP host has the other 2 tape drives attached. NDMP policies configured for this host can use these 2 tape drives.
