VMware restores - Option to remove network interface is grayed out

In the options for a vm restore, there is an option to remove the network interface from the restored VM.  This box is grayed out, and I can not find any documentation as to why this would be the case.  Can anyone give me some things to check?

If memory serves, it will be greyed out if it see's a system that is already using the same information within vCenter and you do not have the option to remove the existing machine.

you can always restored and leave it in a powered off state, then remove the network info before powering it online.

Ah ok, well it is restoring a copy as a new display name.  So basically since the original is in that vCenter instance, the system disables that option.
