when configuring an ESX appeared error "VMware credential validation failed.Unable to match host name, expecting: HostName (-1)

are you using the hostname(short name) of ESX of or FQDN?

make sure you are using the same name how displays when  you run the hostname command in ESX host.

Can you ping ESX hostname from NBU master and/or NBU VMware backup host?

What is OS on Master server?
And OS on Backup host?

I use the full host name with the domain name,
pingable the ESX server from the Master
Master OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 x64
