Hi All,
User ask me to backup data from NDMP device/filer to VTL with Local NDMP topology. Then next he ask me to manually duplicate the Data on VTL to Tape Library that also have Local NDMP topology. As Netbackup only allow duplicate that connected with same media server, is that mean the Data from VTL read by NDMP device/filer then write it to Tape Library? As i know if we use SLP we can duplicate it to STU that connected to another Media Server which in this case a Windows Netbackup Media Server.
Anyone can explain?

You can duplicate any backups from any media server to another.
bpduplicate -backupid <backupid> -dstunit <storage_unit>

Nope.
You can choose any Storage Unit as destination.
Just take into account that data will travel over the network to the destination STU.
