not able to take backup due to firwall issue

Master server: Sun solaris

media server: sun solaris

Clients: Windows

I am not able to take backup of a windows client as firewall is ON on windows server. I am not able to connect to client from master server host properties.Also not able to telnet on BPCD port. If we make the firewall off on client, the clients removes from the network.

have them create an AD OU that allows the following ports in the windows firewall

then add this server to that OU

13724 vnetd

1556 pbx

13782 bpcd

I have moved this to a new thread for you - please close the other thread if you are happy with the answers.

You will need to set exceptions on the servers filewall list to be able to back it up.

You should allow PBX (1556) in both directions but also you can do using vnetd only - see this tech note:

Hi

Check the bpcd , bprd and vnetd port opend or not in bi-directional way.If no open it and try to telnet from master as well as from client.
