BESR 6.5 and windows 7

I have a client with a network of windows XP and Server 2003, however one of the members jsut got a new laptop with windows 7, and I cannot get BESR 6.5 agent isntalled on it from my BESR control panel. Is this a compatibility issue, or some firewall setting on the W7 client?  Thanks

 Do you know how old that version is?  

You need to have BESR2010 to support WIndows 7.  You need at least BESR 8.5 to support Vista.

Yes I know, but BESR 6.5 has a nice feature that has been bungled in the newer releases (or rather improoved, supposedly), it is not fussy when you do your backup directly to  UBS portable drives and swap them around. The new versions recognize that the drive has been changed and get unhappy, i know there are some ways around it, but BESR 6.5 worked good for us, untill this. So thsi means no windows7 supprot for BESR 6.5!?

Correct no support, probably never plan to add support.

You and I both like to point to drive letters, instead we get this drive alias stuff that I'd rather have a choice, and not be fixed into one setting!
