Communication Error

Greetings:

Receiving the following error message when trying to connect to a Backup Exec Server "This program is unable to connect and communicate with the Backup Exec System Recover service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

Firewalls are off and the Backup Exec System Recovery service is running on the target computer.

Any ideas.

Thanks for the response.

But the windows firewall service is turned off on both servers. Though it might be possible that one or more of the needed ports might be blocked by a firewall defending the perimiter which I have no control over.

Do you know a way of testing to see if either of these guys can receive stuff over ports 137, 138, or 139?

Or might there be another cause for this communicaiton error?

You can try a simple telnet test on those ports to see if there is an app listening?
