Hi Guys,
We currently use Backup Exec System Recovery 8.5 on our SBS 2003. I have recently purchased a 2TB USB3.0 drive for file storage as our server HDD was getting a bit crowded. We currently use BESR to backup to USB 2.0 drives and this is working fine for our system drives but does not want to read from the USB3.0 drive when I set it as a source. I have tried setting this backup as both entire disk and as file/folder backup and neither work.
I have read that SRD does not support USB3.0 for backup destinations or as media for backups/restores but I can not find any reference to the limitation on using USB3.0 as a source.
Can anyone please help me with this?
Thanks
David

This TechNote only applies to SSR 2011: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH154302
I will try and find out if we support USB 3.0 with BESR 8.5. I suspect not.

USB 3.0 is not supported with BESR 8.5 I'm afraid. You will need to upgrade to SSR 2011.
