Hi Guru's,
Im new to Backup Exec currently facing a confusion as i am only familiar with NBU.
The Question:
We are running on a 12.5 Backup Exec currently,
There are multiple clients configured for backup in 1 policyThere's this 1 client is keep failing due to below error:
Set type : Backup Resource name : \\xx.xx.xx.xxx.COM\CDMShare Error : e00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed. Agent used : Yes |
Byte count : 0 bytes
Rate : 0.00 MB/Min
Files : 0
Directories : 0
Skipped files : 0
Corrupt files : 0
Files in use : 0
Start time : Tuesday, November 26, 2013 12:54:28 AM
End time : Tuesday, November 26, 2013 12:54:31 AM
Does this means that all other client configured in this policy failed too?
I'm having this confusion is because when i checked the other client backup status in the same job, its stated completed with data written record:
Set type : Backup Resource name : \\\\xx.xx.xx.xxx.COM\CDMShare Agent used : Yes |
Byte count : 49,603,138,059 bytes
Rate : 1,742.00 MB/Min
Files : 129,608
Directories : 408
Skipped files : 0
Corrupt files : 0
Files in use : 0
Start time : Monday, November 25, 2013 11:13:23 AM
End time : Monday, November 25, 2013 11:40:32 AM
Media used : C00073L3
So if 1 client is failed out of 74 clients, does that effect the entire policy for the job as Failed?
Also theres this major issue we are facing on a 2 cluster node server whereby 01 failes but is backed up in 02
But still shows the entire policy failed.
Thank You So Much Guru's
Best Regards

Policies are just templates for jobs. They are not actual jobs.
The actual jobs are generated when you apply a selection list to the policy and this selection list specifies the actual resources to be backed up. Thus if you apply 2 selection lists to the same policy, 2 sets of jobs would be produced and these operate independently of each other.
The job that failed will not affect the other jobs generated from the same policy.
To correct the the error, check whether the path actually exists. It it does not, then remove the path from the selection list and generate the jobs again. You may need to click on the View by Detail tab and hunt for the path to delete it.
