Hello,
I am running BE 2012 with SP4. I get this "Query failed" error message as i try to view backup sets of one of my storages. I have run the live updates and installed the latest hotfixes, still not fixed. Any idea how can i fix this issue??

Try running a repair of the BEDB through BEUtility as described in this document http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH67239

Hi,
Is this a storage device on a MMS/MBES server?
If it is then this is resolved by upgrading to Backup Exec 2014. This is a free upgrade with a current Maintenance contract. Here is a link to a document that describes the issue. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH211722

I am new to BE, but as far as i know it's not on a MMS/MBES server

We do not have a maintenance contract with symantec. Any other way i can fix it? It was working fine till couple of days back.

You can try going to Add/Remove Programs and do a repair of BE.

Does the workaround per this KB help ? - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH180673
Secondly, is the server locale set to non-English or is BE installed using a non-English language ?

Thank you VJ ware. But I am backing up to a 10 TB hard drive, and can't really see the "all media set details". The issue still exists

Let me rephrase my query - Do you have the default filters applied when viewing the backup sets ?
Secondly, is the locale and BE's installed language set to English ?

Yes the default filters have been applied. The "Sort and filter" is disabled when i go to Backup set tab.
The language is set to English

Do you receive the Query Failed message while viewing the backup sets from the Storage tab or by viewing the backup sets from the Backup & Restore (by selecting a particular server) tab ? Would you pls verify if you are getting the Query Failed error when viewing from both tabs or not.
Secondly, are you getting this message for a specific server resource or for all resources ?
Lastly, if you close and reopen the console after getting this error, and then retry to view the same backup sets, does the error reoccur ?

1. While viewing from the Storage Tab.
2. I am getting this message for all resources.
3. Yes, the error is still there.
