Hello Experts,
We are planning to test some of the features like server recovery, disaster recovery in Backup Exec 2012 on Cisco Servers.
Well we have downloaded the BE 2012 trial version, and in need of few information like can we go with the trial version of BE 2012 for this features( Server recovery and disaster recovery). When seeing couple of links it seems we need to install SDR(Simplified disaster recovery). Where can i download this software.
It will be good if i require the solution for the above

There is a chapter in the Admin Guide which covers SDR and you can read the Preparing disaster recovery section in the Admin Guide for steps to recover your servers.

Hi
Please check link below which described the exact difference
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/be2012-or-ssr2011
In simple word the server recovery performs the file level backup of the server and bare metal recovery performs the block level backup of server. Which would be the main difference.
Hope that clears the confusion
Thanks

This is not true. I can have bare metal recovery without performing a block level backup. BE 2012 with SDR does bare metal recovery.
