How do I copy a job to the same server (duplicating it) and then “unlink” them so I can edit the selections in the copy without affecting the selections in the original?

You would need to make a copy of the selection list for the original job as well and then link copy of the selection list to the copy of the job.  To link the copied selection list to the copied job, open the properties of the copied job and click selections.  Once on the selection list click the drop down labeled "selection list name" and select the copied selection list.
