Cant get Manged Custom Folder to archive - Dtrace included - is this possible or should I move on

Goal: Get custom manged folder to archive based on settings sync'd from Exchange 2007

i.e.

mailbox - trisco
   -Inbox <-- based on "Default Archive Policy" = 3 months
  -Sent Items
 Managed Folders
  -Managed Folder   <-- Same policy, however "Archive Exchange Managed Folders" = "Managed" 2 days

Setup: Folder named "Managed Folder" created, Managed Content Setting created (Length of Retention: 2 days), associated policy created and assigned to my mailbox. Folder is created in my folder list and I moved mail there over a week ago, these emails were sent to me many weeks ago. Ran the processes, restarted all of the services, and tasks, rebooted, waited a few more days, initiated tasks manually, etc.

Result: I have seen the the items change since they are set to "Mark as Past Retention Limit" in Exchange in order to verify that the policy is working there. The items however are not archived. Please please please help me understand why? Below is part of a dtrace I ran for "Mailbox archiving issues".

That isn't exactly how it works.  What EV does is synchronize the Retention period assigned to the Exchange Managed folder and assigns that to the items it archives from them.

If you look in the Policy container you should see the Retention Category, it will have a different icon.

Thanks very much for the reply! Please forgive my lack of understanding it.

So if I assign a "length of retention period" of 30 days to the managed folder then after 30 days it will expire the item? If this is true then do I need to specify any specific option from the drop down list such as "Mark as Past Rention Limit" or "Move to deleted items folder"?

This assumes that I setup a retention category to spec. Which indeed I wouldnt even know what to change in there (if I had to guess maybe uncheck the "Retain items forever".

One more thing, I think you may be referring to a retention category that I may not be seeing in my "Retention Category" list. There is only the ones with the stopwatch icon, and in the help i see it define a "General (Managed)" retention type. This may be my hangup...?
