based on this article: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH35596
Is it possible for me to consolidate two different index drives with two different drive letters into just one single big drives ?
at the moment I got the following:
O:\ drive 200 GB 90% full
I:\ drive 200 GB 95% full
and I'd like to create one more Z: drive with 1 TB capacity to contain the indexer from both drives with the capacity to grow.

Yes. It's not that hard to do.
Just remember to something robust when doing the filecopy, not just 'Windows'.

I am worried if in case I overwrite some files if I merge the two content from both drives into just one single drive.
Ok, so what will happen worst come to worst ?

You'd have to go back to your backup where they are separate, and then undo the changes in SQL.

Thanks Rob, so Assuming that this merging process works fine, do I need to do the re-indexing process ?

What re-indexing process? There is no mention in the technote... and it's not necessary at all.

Thanks Rob, what I mean is the Index rebuild process in case the copy process overwriting each other.
I'll be using TeraCopy application to assist me in the file copy process.

Well on your new disk, why not create a folder called I1, and another called I2, and copy each soure in to a different destination.
You can't overwrite anything that way.

Yes, that does make sense Rob.
