During PST migration testing we came across a user with a large number of big PST files. To speed up migration we used the migration wizard to pull the PST files into EV. This failed several times owing to the user having an Exchange mailbox quota smaller than the PST files. Once we learnt to disable the Exchange mailbox quota, PST migration succeeded, but the migration process left several subfolders under the root directory for each failed attempt:
EG: Archived PST
Subfolder1
Subfolder2....31
How do we get rid of these subfolders in ArchiveExplorer? The user has deleted the folders in Outlook.

Hmm, i thought this issue had been resolved since EV8 to be honest.
If the folders are empty you can use the DeleteEmptyFolders process

Many thanks for the quick response. Will try this overnight and verify it works.

I would advice angainst the usage of the DeleteEmptyFolders key. It is known to lead to database corruption under certain circumstances which has to be fixed manually by editing the SQL stored procedures.
Read through the article here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH75282. The issue is described under "cause"
