Receiving 129 error codes even though disk is <50% full

Wile_E__Coyote

Running Netbackup 7.1

We are receiving 129 messages even though our disk storage unit has 1.15TB out of 1.99TB free.

The storage unit had reached the high watermark a couple of days ago, and another admin doubled its size.

You might need to run the disk reports and see if there are any expired images sitting on the disk . a

Alternatively if you can confirm if thats a advanced disk or basic disk pool ?

Hi,

Is this PureDisk or MSDP setup, please check below technote if MSDP:

GENERAL ERROR: NetBackup backups and/or duplications report status 129 'Disk storage unit is full' when targeting Windows-based Media Server Deduplication (MSDP).
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH148008

Also, please confirm if the a DiskPool Inventory has been done after your admin doubled the size of the storage.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,

The simpliest, but no one yet mentioned it: PureDisk services restart?

Cheers!

Check your license too.  PureDisk/NB7.1 gives no indication that that same exact error you're seeing can be caused by exceeding the licensed capacity.  We ran into that when we went a few gigs over and everything failed.  I wasted half a day trying to hunt down I/O issues with the disk array.

f25 is right, try first restarting the puredisk services. Better yet, restart your puredisk server, to refresh its cache storage memory. :)

Where are you seeing the 1.15TB out of 1.99TB free. Is that from NetBackup or is that from the file system itself?
