Is it possible to convert the standby pd node to another CR?

clustered puredisk server(2nodes) has reached capacity limit 32tb- pddo only. Is it possible to attach another 32tb storage to the passive node then assign cr role to it? If yes,do I have to reinstall the standby node then add it back as cr?
