Backups completing successfully on "ALL LOCAL DRIVES" . however it fails with error 71 on the "shadow copy components" . This is a windows box. Please suggest.

Make sure there are no errors with your vss writers.  You can check the bpbkar log on the client.  If that is the case, resolve what is going on with your writers.  Look for something like "FS_WRITER_METADATA_FAILURE"
