Configuring Devices on Netbackup 7.5.3 for a Media Server

JSysEng

Hi,

I have recently created a Media Server which is running Solaris 10, and is connected to a robot (IBM TS3310). I managed to do all the steps from creating, configuring the device on Netbackup (version 7.5.3).

One problem.challenge i am facing. Netbackup has detected my robot as 2 Robot with 2 Drives (1 Drive per robot). I am seeing, TLD 9 & 10. Now from my understanding, i should only pick up 1 robot with 2 drives (TLD 9 with 2 Tape drives). I have checked everything, on the back-ends, hardware side, everything seems to be in the correct place, and i've checked my zoning configurations on the switch, all good.

My question, Is there a way i can set this up on the robot or somewhere, OR this is just how the robot was configured at IBM (to see the 2 drives as robots)? My reason for saying that is that i checked on the OS side, and saw the robot had 2 med-changers.

(media server):/# cfgadm -al -o show_FCP_dev

My alternative plan was to delete all the logical libraries on the robot and create 1 Logical Library, and try to assign both the drives that Library if possible, then re-run the Device Configuration Wizard.

Yes, first of all, you need to disable partitioning feature at IBM library side.Next, reconfigure devices at OS level. Then reconfigure sg driver. After all, run device configuration wizard to add reconfigured single tape library into your NetBackup domain.

Two completely different WWN's?

00308c09add2005 and 500308c09add209d

Any chance robot has been partitioned into 2 logical robots?

Please show output from 'scan' on the media server.
(command in /usr/openv/volmgr/bin)

That thought has occured in mind, but i'm not sure if it is partitioned or not.

Here is the "scan" output:

(xfmedia):/usr/openv/volmgr/bin# ./scan

it looks like library has partition and  and each partition has 1 drive each, and 10 slots for one and 72 slots for another partition.

So can i kill/separate the partition by deleting both the logical libraries and create 1 library then add both drives to it? OR is there another way?
