Configuring a unix client for backup on windows Netbackup environment.

I run netbackup 7 on a purely windows environment, I want to back up a unix (AIX) client on this environment. Does someone have a very simple documentation on how this can be achieved?

Thanks.

Really simple - buy a license, register it on the licensing portal so that you can download the client software for that client, install the client as per the included instructions and then create a policy of the "Standard" policy type.

Usual schedules, client name and ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES backup selection (or just /)

That should be enoght to get you going, obviously read all the admin guides and pre-requisites as is you are at 7.1 then only 64 bit is supported so if it is 32 bit you would need a V6.5 client - and you must ensure you have checked the compatibility charts - everything documentation wise available for download on the Symantec Support Site

Hope this helps

your policy type will be 'standard' for any unix servers you backup.

setting up the policy is just the same way.

get the admin to install the software on the AIX server (real easy)

then add to policy

the you can get to client properites from the gui.
